Watchlist
Learn how to create, organize, and manage watchlists to monitor your favorite stocks in real time.
WLType WL in the command terminal to open the default Watchlist widget.
Overview
The Watchlist is the default widget for tracking stocks on the platform. It gives you a live, real-time view of the stocks you care about — all in one place. You can track price movement, volume, bid/ask spreads, and percentage changes at a glance without switching between multiple screens or tabs.
Whether you're monitoring a handful of names or keeping tabs on entire sectors, the Watchlist is designed to keep you informed and ready to act.
Opening the Watchlist
Press the backtick key (`) to focus the command terminal, type WL, and hit Enter. A new Watchlist widget will appear on your dashboard.
You can open multiple Watchlist widgets at the same time — one for tech stocks, one for earnings plays, one for your swing trades. Each runs independently.
Watchlist Columns
Every watchlist displays the following columns by default:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Ticker | The stock symbol |
| Last | Last traded price |
| Bid | Current best bid price |
| Ask | Current best ask price |
| Chg% | Percentage change from previous close |
| Volume | Total shares traded today |
Prices update in real time on Pro plans (delayed 15–20 minutes on Free).
Managing Tabs
Watchlists support multiple tabs so you can organize your symbols into groups. For example:
- Tech — AAPL, GOOGL, MSFT, NVDA, META
- Energy — XOM, CVX, SLB, OXY
- Earnings This Week — whatever's reporting soon
Creating a Tab
Click the + icon next to your existing tabs to add a new one. Give it a name that makes sense for your trading workflow.
Switching Tabs
Click on any tab name to switch between your groups. Each tab maintains its own list of symbols and displays them independently.
Removing a Tab
Hover over a tab and click the × to remove it. This deletes the tab and all symbols in it, so make sure you don't need them first.
Adding Symbols
Add One at a Time
Click the + Add button at the bottom of the watchlist, type a ticker symbol (e.g., TSLA), and press Enter. The stock will appear in your current tab with live data.
Batch Import
Need to add a bunch of symbols at once? Click the Import button, then paste or type a comma-separated list:
AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN, NVDA, META, TSLA
Hit Enter, and all symbols will be added to your current tab instantly.
Removing Symbols
Hover over any row in the watchlist and click the × icon to remove that symbol. It's removed only from the current tab — if the same symbol exists in another tab, it stays there.
Reading the Watchlist
The watchlist is designed for quick scanning. Here's how to read it effectively:
- Green Chg% — the stock is up on the day
- Red Chg% — the stock is down on the day
- High volume — something is happening, worth investigating
- Wide bid/ask spread — lower liquidity, be cautious with market orders
- Tight bid/ask spread — high liquidity, good for quick entries and exits
Tips
- Keep it focused. Don't overload a single tab with 100 symbols. Group them by strategy or sector so you can scan quickly.
- Use multiple watchlists. Open one for day trades, another for swing setups, and a third for long-term positions. Each widget is independent.
- Review weekly. Remove symbols that are no longer relevant to your thesis. A clean watchlist keeps you sharp.
